Joseph Ford was a Patriot serving as a Lieutenant and as a PVT with North Carolina. DAR application are thru his daughter Elizabeth born 15 Mar 1793 in Sullivan Co TN, married William Ratliff 27 June 1813. Then their son Harrison Ratliff born 31 Jan 1814 at Pikeville, KY and married Margaret Hatcher 27 Feb 1840.  Then their son W O B Ratliff born 24 July 1844 at Pikeville, KY and married Mary Elizabeth Coates 21 Nov 1875.  Then their son A S Ratliff born 14 Feb 1878 at Pikeville, KY and married Kate Matney on 9 Sept 1907.
