Moses Stepp was born in Orange Co., VA and died in Floyd Co./now Martin Co, KY.  He is buried in Martin County, KY GPS Bearing N 37.73962° W082.44196°.  From the Junction of Routes 645 & 40 East of Inez, KY; Drive 4 miles on Route 40 to Rte 2032 (Little Rockcastle Rd); Turn right and Drive 4 miles to a three-way stop; Turn left on Route 1439 and drive 0.5 miles to Route 1714. Turn right and drive 3.1 miles to Moses Stepp Cemetery located on left side of Route 1714.

Moses Stepp served as a Private under NC Captains Thomas Whitson & Joseph White and Colonel Charles McDowell.  He also served under SC Lt John Sumpter; Captain Ross; General Sumpter.
