Abraham Childers

His service was in the 5 Virginia Line, Rank of Private. His SAR Ancestor number is P-132460 & his Pension #R1922v. He served with Capt Landrum.  He was born Nov 15, 1752 in Albemarle County, Virginia and died April 6, 1849 in Letcher County, KY.  The spouse of Abraham Childers was Elizabeth Roberts.

 

From Kentucky Explorer Sept 2008 Issue Abraham Childers is located on Breeding Fork of Carr Creek in Knott County, Kentucky and is marked with a Government supplied Marker.  His sons were in Confederate States Army are located in same cemetery and marked at the same time as their father. At the Battle of Brandywine under General Washington Abraham Childers was wounded, his brother Moseby was killed and another brother William was captured.(Source Kentucky Explorer Sept 2008 Issue).
