Nathan Preston married Elizabeth Vaun August 1780 in Bedford County, Virginia. He served with VA line and applied for his pension 18 March 1818 in Floyd County, KY. Nathan Preston and Moses Preston, buried in Lawrence County, KY, are brothers and both Revolutionary War Patriots. Under aff'dt 29 Aug 1839 in Floyd County, KY, his son Jeffery Preston age 48 stated his parents had eight children. He named Nancy born October 1780, Edy was 53, Polly was 50 & himself. Nathan's sister Elizabeth Burges aged 98 made aff'd 2 Sept 1839 in Floyd County, Ky. Nathan's brother Moses Preston aged 84 made aff'd 2 Sept 1839 in Lawrence County, KY.(Source Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files, Vol III, pp 2766 & 2767.)
The location of Nathan Preston's burial site is in question. Nathan Preston lived across the Big Sandy River bordered by the horsebend in the river. A 1832 deed when the property was sold mentioned a family cemetery located on a ridge opposite the mouth of Paint Creek. Some people think he and his wife may have been buried
in that cemetery.
