Aris took part in the battle of Guilford Court House on March 25, 1781.  He signed the Oath of Allegiance to the United States in January 1777.  He provided material aid to a hospital for Revolutionary War soldiers. Source Approved Supplemental Application for Richard Wayne Osborn, National Number 150208, Missouri State number 2058.  This lineage is from Richard Wayne Osborn to Glen Wilson Osborn to Vern Ross Osborn to Andrew Jackson Osborn, born in Floyd County, KY, who married Elizabeth Burchett, to her father Thomas James Burchett who married Letitia Vaughn all also of Floyd County, KY.  Letitia Vaughan's father was Leroy Vaughn a son of Aris Vaughn, Jr. then to the patriot Aristophus T. Vaughn.
